They won, they danced with the public, they enchanted Rome with their enthusiasm and their playing. Then, when they arrived at the press conference, they had the widest smile you could imagine on the face of a sportsman. Ale Galan and Juan Lebron have confirmed their position as n. 1 in the world and also as the n. 1 seeds in the Rome tournament, winning their second Major Premier Padel. At Doha they had lost against Navarro/Di Nenno, but this time they have made a more gentle comeback.
JUAN LEBRON
"For me it has been a pleasure to be here and to have won this trophy, and I'd like to thank the public for supporting us. We have seen how padel is growing and this tournament is like a dream come true. Paquito Navarro and Martin Di Nenno are two great opponents and our congratulations to them also for contributing to the performance that we gave to the public”.
"Yes, there was a lot of tension, and a lot of agitation. But we're happy we did it. We're still living a dream and we would like to give it to all the kids and children that were here this week in Rome. Seeing them so enthusiastic was really moving for us.
This victory of ours comes from the trust in our team, between our fellow players and with our coach. The important thing was to stay close with the points because we knew that it would have been a really close match right up to the end. In those decisive moments, we managed our stress well and kept our nerve.
ALE GALAN
“We are all really happy - us players – for what we have lived here in Rome this week. We deserve a public that really participate in the game like this. Thanks to everyone for having let us live this special event that for me has been the best in the world.”
"Me, a world icon? I'm not sure but feeling this enthusiasm that has grown around us is fantastic. As I said, this is the most moving tournament that I have played in my career. Certainly, there was the World Championships where I got my first title in the circuit, but Rome was special for many reasons, especially for the atmosphere that was created".
"I'm happy to know that many of the kids that came to see us play will one day start playing padel. This tournament has been a reward for all the players in the Premier Padel circuit with nobody excluded.
PAQUITO NAVARRO
“We have had a wonderful week here in Rome with this fantastic public that has let us experience wonderful moments. I hope to live the same emotions next year too”.
MARTIN DI NENNO
"The whole week has been really special. There is so much in common between Italians and Argentines and for me it was a really great emotion to play here in Rome. My wish is to come back here next year and perhaps win the title together with Paquito”.
